About Me
Hi! I'm Dan.

I've played guitar since the ripe old age of 7 thanks to my parents wanting me to get a hobby early on in life. I've always had a thing for tinkering and wokring out how things are made/function.

Early on I worked out how to do basic maintenance on my own guitars and then during my time in University completing my Masters Degree in Sound Engerneering, I worked on peers guitars to fill my time.

After this, I decided to pursue my dream of working on guitars full time. I initiallly moved down to Dorset for an intensive course with Crimson Guitars to fuly immerse myself in guitar building. On completion of the course, I was offered a position working at their Luthiery School and went on to teach hundreds of students how to build and repair guitars.

During Covid, I decided to move back home to South Wales and began working as a touring Guitar Technician for Florence Black. This opened the door to me working with other bands and have build a successful career working with other incredible bands including Atreyu, Those Damn Crows and Punk Rock Factory.

Inbetween touring, I run South Wales Guitar Repair and Maintenance and have working on countless guitars over the last few years. However, the end goal always remained for wanting to build and manufacture handmade, custom guitars using the highest quality hardware and woods.

And then McNeill Guitars was born. Starting in 2025, I began taking orders for custom guitars. I've got a few models in the work which with be revealed in due time, so until then keep an eye out on all the good things to come.
